Pre and Post Care
PRP Post-Treatment Instructions
The Morning of Your Treatment:
- Please shower on the morning of your treatment. If your PRP is for hair, thoroughly wash it using regular shampoo.
- Avoid using gels, hair sprays, or other styling products. If you wear a hair system, remove it before shampooing and do not wear it before your session.
- Eat normally and aim to drink at least 500ml of water before your procedure.
Specific Instructions for Pre and Post PRP Treatment
Diet and Fluid
Increase your fluid intake to at least 1 liter of water daily, starting 1 day before your PRP treatment and continuing for 3 days after. On the day of your procedure, we recommend drinking a 500ml bottle of water before your session.
PRP treatment does not require any specific dietary changes.
Medications
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, Voltarol, and other anti-inflammatory medications for 1 day before and 3 days after your treatment. Paracetamol can be taken if needed.
Alcohol and Smoking
Avoid alcohol for at least 1 day before your PRP session, ideally 3 days. We strongly recommend stopping smoking 3 days before your session. Both can be resumed 3 days after the procedure.
Supplements
Discontinue blood-thinning agents such as Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Ginkgo, garlic, flaxseed oil, and multivitamins 1 week before your procedure. These can be resumed 1 week after your PRP session.
Iron and Vitamin D can be continued throughout.
Exercise and Spa
Avoid strenuous exercise, including gym workouts, sauna, steam room, swimming, and jacuzzi, for 3 days after your session.
Hair Colouring
You can color your hair up to 3 days before and 3 days after your session.
Shampoo
Use your regular shampoo on the morning of your PRP session. Shower 24 hours after the procedure and resume using pH-balanced shampoo if needed.
Facial Redness
Facial redness following PRP facials typically resolves within 48 hours but may occasionally take up to 5 days to clear. Mild soreness, itching, and swelling at injection sites are normal. If you experience discomfort, we recommend taking paracetamol. Avoid applying ice to treated areas.
